Meritto — Terms & Conditions

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract to use Meritto. By registering, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate, complete, and up to date.

2. Account Roles

A single Meritto account may be used in up to three roles: Job Seeker, Recruiter, and Senior Referrer. Each role is governed by additional role-specific obligations described below.

2.1 Job Seekers

• You agree to attempt skill tests honestly, without external assistance, screen sharing, or impersonation. AI proctoring (camera, fullscreen, anti-cheat) is a condition of attempt. Two violations within a single test session result in automatic submission and a karma penalty. Repeated violations may lead to account suspension.
• You consent to having your test attempts, scores, mock-interview recordings, and karma calculations stored and processed as described in the Privacy Policy.

2.2 Recruiters

• You agree to use karma scores and candidate information only to evaluate candidates for genuine job opportunities and not for resale, scraping, or unrelated purposes.
• Unlocking a candidate's contact details creates a binding commitment that you have a genuine intent to consider them for the role for which you unlocked them.
• Discriminatory use of karma data — including but not limited to filtering by attributes protected under applicable law — is strictly prohibited.

2.3 Senior Referrers

• You confirm that the work history you submit is accurate. Meritto may verify employment dates and roles using third-party sources.
• Mock-interview scoring must be based on the candidate's performance during the interview. Scoring on the basis of identity, college, employer, or other prohibited attributes is grounds for immediate removal from the panel.
• Compensation is paid per completed and scored interview. Detailed rates and payout schedules are governed by the Referrer Agreement issued at panel onboarding.

3. Karma Scores

Karma is a composite score derived from your test performance, mock-interview scores, and proctored activity history. Meritto reserves the right to recompute, audit, and adjust karma based on detected violations, scoring anomalies, or material changes in the underlying methodology.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Impersonate another individual or misrepresent your affiliation, qualifications, or identity.
• Share test questions, answers, mock-interview prompts, or scoring rubrics with any third party.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, scrape, or interfere with the Platform's infrastructure.
• Use Meritto to harass, defame, or discriminate against any person or group.

5. Payments & Subscriptions

During the beta period, core features are free. Future paid features will be clearly marked and require explicit opt-in. Recruiter unlocks and referrer payouts follow the role-specific commercial terms presented at the point of purchase.

6. Intellectual Property

All Platform content, including test items, scoring rubrics, software, branding, and design, is owned by Meritto or its licensors and protected by applicable copyright and trademark law.

You retain ownership of content you submit (résumés, recordings, work history) but grant Meritto a worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, process, and display it as needed to provide the service.

7. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from your profile settings. Meritto may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms, with or without prior notice, depending on the severity of the breach.

8. Disclaimers

Meritto is provided on an "as is" basis. We do not guarantee placement, interview offers, or any specific career outcome. Karma scores are an indicative signal and do not constitute professional advice.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Meritto shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of the Platform. Our aggregate liability in any 12-month period is capped at the greater of (a) fees paid by you in that period and (b) ₹10,000.

10. Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes arising hereunder are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Delhi, NCR.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced via email and through an in-app notice at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
